| In the side sewing process, threads are sewn through the full bulk of the text block and endsheets 3/16” from the spine. This yields strength, durability and longevity. | Singer sewing is commonly used for brochures and thin catalogs. The minimum thickness that can be singer sewn is a single sheet of paper and our maximum thickness is 1/8 of an inch thick. | Books can be sewn by a three or 5 hole stitch, this has a nicer finish with loops and is then knotted inside or out. | The practical benefits of wire-o or spiral as opposed to glued or stitched publications is that they can lie flat easily or fold back on themselves without folding shut or damaging the spine of the book. | ||
